What We Do
With around 265 members representing about 30 countries, the
Society aims to educate professionals of all grades of expertise
and experience and increase awareness of the conditions.
The Society meets every year at its Annual Scientific Meeting,
where the latest research is presented and discussed. All members,
including junior professionals and trainees, are encouraged to
present their results, adding to global research efforts.
Usually taking place in June or July, meeting locations have
reflected our international membership, with host nations including
the UK, USA, Germany, The Netherlands, Scandinavia, Belgium, Spain
and Israel..
The Society works with the Association for Spina Bifida and
Hydrocephalus (ASBAH), the UK organisation for people with
spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus, to promote the best interests
of those whose lives are affected by the conditions. We also work
with similar bodies in other countries.
