SOCIETY FOR RESEARCH INTO HYDROCEPHALUS AND SPINA BIFIDA

ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING

VANCOUVER, 7-10 JULY 2010

ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRIZES (£100 EACH)

BEST ORAL PRESENTATION - TWO PRIZES

One prize will be offered for the best oral presentation on a basic science topic (that is one based on laboratory work and not likely to result in changes to clinical practice in the near future). A second prize will be offered for the best oral presentation on a clinical topic (that is one involving patients or carers, or laboratory research closely linked to a clinical problem or investigation).

BEST POSTER - TWO PRIZES

The categories will be the best basic science topic and the best clinical topic, defined as above. In each of the above four categories, preference will be given to students, juniors or trainees who must be first or, in the case of oral presentations, presenting author.

The decision of the judges will be final.

 PRESIDENT'S PRIZE

This will be offered for the best oral presentation that is considered to be translational, ie taking an idea from basic science or theory through development to clinical application.

In addition to the prize of £100, a certificate will be awarded.

The Executive Committee reserve the right not to award any or all of the above prizes if there is no entry of sufficient quality. Only one prize per person will be awarded.
